About Me

My nickname is Emy and I've been in the hobby since 2011.

I've graduated from plastic arts, and started my own business in 2009. This was a forum based, online hangout, community website. This was mainly about customizing pixel avatar dolls, and this immensely developed my graphic, design, creative and coloring skills.
This taught me so many things about work environment, life in general, organization as a self employed individual, managing myself and others, and so many other skills along the way. Some of the very same skills I use while creating faceups today!

I've always loved bjds, but could never bring myself to own one, mainly because i was convinced that this was a silly purchase, and that it wouldnt be reasonable due to the price tag. I finally gave in and owned my very first bjd in 2011 . She was a sweet Rio from DreamingDoll which I ordered from the company, and I then sent the head to Andreja for a faceup.

This escalated quickly, I became kinda obsessed with the hobby, and my creative inner self took over. I decided to give it a go, and did my very first faceup on an Elfdoll Dami & Yumi that I received shortly after my Rio. I then started to take commissions in the beginning of 2012!
I've been doing faceups ever since, in a commission based manner, and on my own dolls also. My skills improved over time, as well as my style. I have a weakness for freckles and pulpy lips which I love tremendously. :D
What I love the most about faceups, is that the exact same sculpt can have so many expressions and personalities, and as a result can look completely different from one another.

In the year 2015 life got in the way and as a result I had to stop taking commissions last year.
This made me really sad, because I've missed doing faceups so much, and missed expressing my creativity and "giving life" to these gorgeous dolls.
I thought that most people would have forgotten me, but to my surprise, when I posted a picture of my girls on my instagram a few days ago, I got an overwhelming standing ovation lol! This really warmed up my heart, and reminded me how awesome this bjd community is. ♥

Thankfully I am now back for many years to come, and hope to keep writing about my future adventures with all of those wonderful dollies, in this About Me section soon!

Hope you enjoyed my story!
With love, ♥♥♥

Emy
